Smart Hijab Mobile App

This project focuses on designing an aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly app that complements a smart hijab capable of measuring body temperature and air moisture levels. The app not only provides health monitoring features but also fosters a sense of community, promotes cultural engagement, and simplifies event discovery.

Overview

The Smart Hijab app is designed for young South Asian Muslim women (ages 18-25) who value modesty, cultural identity, and technological innovation. The app acts as a health companion by syncing with the hijab's sensors while offering additional lifestyle features like community discussions, local event exploration, and personal profile management.

The app's design is minimalist, modern, and culturally sensitive, ensuring it resonates with the target audience. Multilingual accessibility makes it inclusive for diverse South Asian communities, supporting Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, and Tamil, among others.

Project Goals

Empower Hijabi Women

• Provide real-time health data and alerts for unusual readings to ensure safety and comfort.

• Shows the current levels that are being measured by the hijab

Build a community

• Create a safe space for discussions around modesty, culture, and identity.

• The user must be able to join the discussion and also send messages.

Encourage Cultural Engagement

• Help users discover and participate in local events that align with their values and interests.

• Users should be able to select an event to see more details and buy tickets.

Foster Accessibility

• Offer multilingual support and a simple, intuitive design to cater to a diverse audience.

• Option to change to other language like hindi, urdu, panjabi etc.
  
  Iteratively updated the wireframes based on additional user feedback and functionality considerations. Ensured the wireframes aligned with the target audience’s cultural aesthetics while remaining intuitive and modern.

High Fidelity Designs

The high-fidelity designs transformed the wireframes into visually polished screens that embody the app’s aesthetic and functionality. These designs focused on creating a seamless user experience while reflecting the target audience’s preferences for a modern, culturally sensitive, and minimalistic interface.

• Incorporated modern typography with a balance of readability and style to appeal to the young audience.

• Integrated cultural motifs subtly into backgrounds and dividers, reflecting the app’s connection to modesty and tradition.
